Hi and welcome to my website.
Ever since I was a child,
I
had this connection with creating art. Colors, shapes, lines
and curves just flowed so naturally. My mother, grandmother
and uncle noticed my drawings and were very encouraging to
pursue this further. In order to gain a well rounded
understanding and to be exposed to various forms and genres
of art, I was taken to museums and galleries throughout New
York City. It was so interesting to see the history of art,
architecture and design throughout the millennia at amazing
museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the
Guggenheim and to absorb the visualization of the Museum of
Modern Art. Whether it is classic to contemporary,
photographs to photo-realism,
or landscapes to abstract, all
of these artistic visions were very inspiring. So much so,
at age 8, I wanted to take up oil painting. My mother
concerned about providing a challenge for me managed to
enroll me in an adult’s only class in classic oil painting.
It was great. An artist gentleman in his late 80’s taught
the class. He said that the key to a wonderful painting is
-- just be! After practicing many techniques and a number of
paintings later, I came to understand what he meant by, just
be –“ just be you!” It’s amazing how those few words apply
so much in life as well.
